We incurred heavy fines not due to any wrong doing on our side or weakness in our rental dispute case wherein, after initiallu giving notice of eviction to the tenant, a amicable agreement was reached between us and the tenant, in return, for extending the lease for 3 months, he would forego his right to sue us if we rent the place to another party. We gave all evidences to NYK. The fine was imposed due to technical error wherein a communication to Court was delayed due to their system being down, as per NYK explanation. The NYK lawyer was supposed to approach the judge's chambers and explain this. Instead they only spoke to the judge's secretary or assistant to the judge and told us that this decision by the judge will not be reversed. They did not speak to the learned judge and were content exchanging words with the assistant. This cost us about AED 130k in fines that was totally legally avoidable. Disappointed.
